- The entered work must have been created or released publicly from October 2024 through 2025.
- Works previously entered into an SAC competition are not eligible.
- Only one entry per person is allowed in any category.
- A person or organization may not enter more than three categories. (This does not apply to universities, but any particular student should not enter more than three categories.)
- Award certificates will only be given to a maximum of three persons involved in the project. Please enter no more than three names for credit for any submission.
- All entries should be in the form of attachments or an accessible link to a cloud location or online site. (Links to documents on your personal computer will not work and will be rejected.)
- Award of Excellence – Given to the best professional submission in the competition.
- Reger Smith Cutting Edge Award – Recognizing excellence in technical innovation.
- (NEW) People’s Choice Award for Student Entries – voted on during the convention.
- (NEW) Victoria Joyner Broadcasting Excellence Award (to be periodically awarded).
- Lifetime Achievement Award – Given to a professional communicator or educator. Deadline: September 22, 2025
- Young Professional Award – Recognizing professionals under 35.
- Communication Student of the Year Award – Nominations should come from SDA college/university educators or communications directors. Deadline: September 22, 2025
Award Submission
SAC 2025 Technical Award Instructions - Submissions Due by September 9, 2025
SAC holds a competition each year for excellence in various communication related fields. Some are open to professionals and others are for students, and for the first time, this year one will be for both.
Entries will be judged by a panel of judges and the winners announced at the awards banquet on the evening of October 18 at the SAC convention at La Sierra University in Riverside, California. At least one person from the organization or creative team must be a registered attendee to the convention, and present at the awards ceremony, to receive an award.
We are also working on new ways to highlight student entries. This will hopefully include displaying top student entries during this year’s convention in California; as well as we plan to include a ‘Peoples’ Choice Student Award’ that would be voted on during the convention.
